Late Autumn/Early Winter Meet, Ashbourne, Derbyshire 8th,9th,10th, October 2018

Held at Callow Top Holiday Park, Buxton Road, Sandybrook, Ashbourne

14 units, 22 members and 8 dogs attended and what wonderful weather we were treated to, it was sunny and warm, what a treat for Autumn.

Held mid-week it did mean those that work couldn't attend but we all took advantage of the special offer from the site for reduced fees during October and we had members arriving from as far away as Scotland and Kent.

Monday everyone arrived and there was the general wander around and have a look at each others vans, catch up and have a chat. We were all particularly interested in seeing Gregor's finished van conversion which we had followed over the last few months. Greycamper's van broke down on arrival but thankfully it was nothing more than a loose fuse and the RAC soon had her fixed and onsite.

Tuesday people did their own things with some walking into Ashbourne via the Tissington Trail others going off to walk in other directions or visit the pub, others staying on site to chat. At 6.30pm we had booked two large tables at the onsite bar where we enjoyed a lovely meal, chatting and eating into the evening.

Wednesday again it was a 'do your own thing' day and as the sun was so lovely many stayed on site to enjoy basking in the sunshine. Others walked or went out to visit local attractions.

As usual the kindness of members was highlighted as Kate found she had a puncture on her Romini, there was plenty of help to remove it so she could go off to get it repaired, then help in putting it back on ready for her journey home.

Thanks everyone who attended and for making it a great meet as usual.
