    Thanks for the link - could be useful for us as we do a fair bit of travelling in mainland Europe, although we probably will back here by the end of October and not back over until early next year. Still, it will be useful to be kept up to date with whatever we need to do/prepare.

    I have just received this very useful link from the Gov web site. The most useful important bit of information is that we will need an International Driving Permit if we cross the channel to France. Seemingly for all other EU countries we won't need one. The IDP costs £5.50 from your local Post Office.

    Assuming someone bangs together the wooden heads of the politicians and we do actually leave the EU, you can sign up to a Gov www to get regular updates on the requirements for travelling to europe.
