Well actually if you speak to emmerson I think you might find that you can. I don't know what he paid for his Kontiki but if you do want a motorhome and are prepared to accept a Talbot Express / Fiat Ducato / Peugeot Boxer with the rectangular headlights eventually you will find one. they do rust in the cab area though, and of course depending on how well each individual one was built in the factory there might be damp in the habitation area.It was a lot more fun being 20 in the 70's than being 70 in the 20'sComment

Fortunately, I have no need or desire to change from my trusty Toyota Estima...for me it's the perfect vehicle.
I'm glad I'm not in the buying market currently..what a nightmare it must be trying to find a decent vehicle and not be expected to pay a ridiculous sum of money for it.

It says that it sleeps 4, can you imagine 4 people cooped up in that on a cold wet night?
Has anyone experienced a lift up roof on a windy night?
I will stick with our Romahome just for the 2 of us

Average price for that type of camper now tbh. A similarly specc'd VW would be over £60k

Oh yes! The Fiat Skamper that I had only had beds in the roof. Come a wet and windy night and it rocked like a boat on a stormy sea. I thought it might tip over at one point! Putting it down wasn't an option in the middle of the night and the alternative was to sleep on the floor with the dog!
