There seem to be quite a few of us heading off through France this June. We're sailing to Calais and meandering across Normandy to Brittany in convoy; two Roma homes and one Talbot Express, 4 adults and three dogs. Give us a wave or drop in to say hello if you spot us- shouldn't be difficult, I think we'll probably stand out somewhat!!

We went to Camping les Moulins on Noirmoutier in June last year with daughter, son in law & 2yr old grandson. Had a great time tho' too darned hot for me. TomTom on my iPhone was interesting as it took us to the causeway at high tide! The graphics were great-showed us the road disappearing into beautiful blue sea & instructed us to drive on for 2 miles. Interesting conversation with sat nav followed!
We're off to France for 5 weeks at the end of May-what's Honfleur like? We're usually hot foot for the south west, but will have time to meander & 'browse' our way along the channel coast for the first time. I imagine it's great.

Currently on an ACSI at Honfleur. Will be going down towards Noirmoutier later. We stayed on an ACSI last year 'La Grande Cote' at La Barre De Monts which overlooks the bridge at Noirmoutier. Nice ACSI site with a pleasant walk along to town via the path alongside the sea. Try and avoid in early July as it is the start point of the Tour De France across the Passage du Gois. The world and his wife will be there.
The old route to Noirmoutier which floods at high tide.

    France-Cheap Channel Tunnel & Camping

The EuroTunnel deal is courtesy of Tesco Easter Voucher Bonus-they triple up for some ferries (Ireland & ? Belgium) & EuroTunnel. We've just traded £70 of vouchers for £210 of EuroTunnel coupons that will give us a France 'free' return.

We've previously used Brittany Ferries Portsmouth-St. Malo or Caen, but even with the Property Owners Discount would still have been around £500! We're going for June so we're going to leisurely explore Normandy, probably Ile de Noirmoutier (Loire Atlantique) before wending down to Poitou Charente & St. Emilion.

Apologies if this old hat, but the cheap camping is through Camping Cheques-you buy them or get credit on a silver or gold card. The cost off-season-up to the end of June, sometimes 1st week in July & sometimes last week in August through to September & later is just £13.95 for the van, electrics, people and our hound. Even off-season French sites can be 30 euros.
The other cheap camping is via the ACSI camping card-they have an excellent website for finding the sites you want in Europe.
    Hope this is useful,
    Roger
