    Heaters

    Good evening Small Motohome owners

I recently bought a Fiat Ducato and converted it to a camper. The other evening it was a little chilly and i thought that a heater added to the conversion would have been a good idea.

Has anyone got any suggestions on a heating solution. I have a 500w inverter and two 130AH leisure batteries and a 110w solar panel.

Is there a solution with this setup or would i need to buy an additional inverter and / or another leisure battery and solar panel.

Thanks eversomuch for your suggestions in advance.

    The best of regards

    Jax

    I'm considering one of these.

A diesel Eberspacher or Chinese copy should do the job easily and you have ample power from your leisure batteries (along with a compressor fridge too).

Diesel heater as suggested above is probably the best solution. They use quite a bit of 12v to start up and run but your current set up should be fine for quite a few nights at a time.

Electric heating isn't really a viable proposition on 12v, even with a 500w inverter - although you could run an electric blanket which would keep you warm in bed.

Too much heat for our tiny pod - probably good for a Ducato

Another useful feature of the Eberspacher units is that they can be set to ventilation mode which can be useful.

You can do that with the Chinese copies (dare I say "CLONES") too.

Yes it's worth getting the heating serviced. It's very useful on cold nights. A lot cheaper to run than gas or electric.
