Clitheroe Camping and Caravan Club site

We've just got back from a fab weekend in Clitheroe. The site was very popular with families and with good reason, it's next to a park and alongside the river. The weather was glorious and every day people were out by the river (or in the river!) with picnics ... it was like being at the seaside. The site was clean and well organised, with either hook up or not (we were not) and the atmosphere was great with everyone sitting outside enjoying themselves. If anyone out there wants to take their kids/granddkids this site is perfect. considering the number of people there this weekend (and children of all ages) it was remarkably peaceful. From the site, you can walk along the river towards Pimlico and Chatburn, and Clitheroe is only about fifteen minutes away on foot.
We will definitely go to this site again, it was lovely!

Thanks Dolly - useful information. We are ALWAYS on the lookout for good sites within walkng distance of towns and villages. Makes for a good all round relaxing break.

We've been there ages and ages ago and I had forgot about it, thanks for refreshing my memory, we must get up there again.
