Our Dimension, that is, not me. ;)
We always seem to take too much gear with us, and I often wonder if we are within the payload limits set by Citroen/Romahome.
Sooooooooooooooo, last week we loaded up the 'van with -
full fuel tank
half full fresh water tank,
drinking water in bottles and flasks
"normal" camping gear
awning, poles and pegs
bike rack, two bikes, 5 bike panniers loaded with cycling gear
unemptied toilet casette (unserviced from previous weekend)
etc, etc
........... and we went to visit a weighbridge
Result - 'van plus driver and one passenger - 40 kg over the permissable Gross Vehicle Weight :(
And that was without -
2 rear seat passengers
clothes in wardrobe
laptop
DVD player
fresh food
reading matter
and sundry other junk that always finds its way into the 'van.
We managed to shed about 30kg by draining tanks and casette etc, and promptly put an equal amount back in when packing to go away (tomorrow morning)
Just hope that we don't get stopped for a "routine vehicle check" on the way down to Devon ;)
Just a thought, when was the last time YOU visited a weighbridge with your fully loaded 'van?
Barry
