    Can Anyone Help Please?

    Hi Everyone

I am looking for some information/help and am hoping someone can assist me please:

My Mum has a 1999 Daihatsu Hijet Camper Van and is looking for recommendations on places she can visit. She is very independent and has stayed on sites in the past but felt pretty much out of place as the majority of the campers had large vans and she felt like a little fish in a big pond. She is a pensioner and being a solo camper she likes to meet people, chat and make new friends along the way.

She lives in Lancashire and although she is willing to travel she would like to try somewhere not a million miles away at this stage, not necessarily in Lancashire but probably in the North of England/Wales.

    Thanking You.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Is your mothers van a Romahome? If it is it might be worth telling her to join the Roma Club, they have lots of meets and most the vans would be small ones like your mothers, alternatively how about the Camping and Caravanning Club they have meets for members all over the country and are sure to have one in her area.

      Hi feenixd

Graham's suggestions are very good. It may be worth looking at the Caravan and Camping Club website under their special interest groups as there may be a group your mother may be interested in joining. There are loads of special interest groups and are attended by all ages and singles, couples, families or friends together.

Meets are quite regular and friendly. One can also attend the meets of any other group or the rallies or temporary holiday sites and will get a warm welcomed.

We belong to the walking group.

Depends on the facilities on board but the camping and caravanning club site at Clitheroe could be a good place to start.

Can also make lots of other suggestions depending on the facilities needed.
