    Companion

We saw what we thought was a Romahome today but it wasnt, it was a "Companion " . Slightly different shape to the Roma but very cute. Anyone seen one before ?

Nope, never heard of it - and nothing on Google either!

I just had to google it too, and came across this image of a Renault Companion Campervan, it reminds me of other early Stimsons (I think). Is this anything like it?

Oh well done Aileen! I saw a few of those for sale on Ebay, I was impressed with the space in the back of them. A lot of ppl call them 'Popemobiles'! Didn't realise they were the 'companions' that Pendel mentioned!

So is this the one, Pendel?

            Ta JayJay,
It does look great, doesn't it, it has everything and so light and airy for a small van. I'm sure if money were no problem, I would have a collection of vans (and of course a large, landed property to keep them on)!

I have seen several of these at our hospital, they were modified for rear entry wheelchair access.Maybe the "companion" is the basic van type and it is being modified as a camper by one of the many small modifiers in the midlands.

The base vehicle is a Renault Extra van (sold as a Renault Express in the rest of Europe.) They dont make them anymore. As was mentioned earlier the design and early production was by Barry Stimson but as with many other products he sold it to someone else. It reminds me of a "gown van". I am really showing my age.

Maybe the lady who posted about needing a small motorhome with wheelchair access for her son would be interested in this one?
