    Driveaway awnings

We are finding that the awning supplied with our Romahome Duo is too heavy for us oldies, and awkward to erect. I have found an Outdoor revolution Outhouse XL handy online and wonder if anyone has experience of this model. Any other recommendations welcome. Thank you

I don’t have any experience with that particular model but the Revolution outhouse awning we have is extremely well made and tough.

Look on ebay for a 2nd hand one as they last well if looked after

Which awning do you currently have? And what do plan to do with it? I only ask as I've just bought a C15 Romahome and I will be needing an awning (I wondered if you might be selling it). I'm new on here (hello everyone!) and I don't yet know whether an awning intended for another Romahome would be interchangeable with other models.

        Hello Dave
I don't know who made it but it's the original canvas awning supplied by Romahome. It's old now and the last time we used it one of the poles twisted. It's a case of buy a new one or try to straighten it in a vice

I have also found the Movelite Rev. awnings pretty easy to put up.

There are a few interesting variations on the theme, some with photos, in the subsection, Awnings.

Go here to have a look through the threads:

              Hi AW1

We plumped for the Khyam Tailgate XL quick erect which is a drive-away awning. Not cheap but light, well made and does what it says in the tin. Also comes with an optional inner tent so two people can be sleep in it

              Happy to answer any questions

Would you be interested in selling? If so, how much and where are you?

They have a blow up awning now and I can't remember off hand but I think Graham demonstrated one on youtube. I watched the video and I was quite impressed to how strong they are.

This is the cheapest I could find on fleabay

Video but I'd use an electric pump not a hand pump.

                    Awnings

I have just purchased a romahome duo Citroën bellingo camper van. .I also am looking for a drive away awning to fit. ..there is one on Amazon for £248 not quite sure what to do on that one...maybe the kayman one may be better although it is more expensive.

This one came with my van.

It fits a C15 hitop very well, and I erected it easily on my own in less than 30 minutes.

It didn't have instructions, so I reckon I can easily beat that next time.

(Taking it down was 15 mins, but it was a good, clean, dry field)

We have just returned from a 2 week jaunt in Holland and Belgium as a road test for a longer trip in the winter. One of the things we wanted to try out was the awning. The Khyam we mentioned in a previous post within this thread proved really easy to put up and take down again. We had all the pegs out, legs collapsed and the whole thing in the bag in under 10 mins! Putting it up takes a few minutes longer, depending on how many pegs you fasten it down with
