    r20/outlook toilet storage

With our old c15 hilo we were able to store the 335 porta potti under the sink after I'd taken the cupboard shelf out. At some point the R20/outlook had a "toilet option" available, with a tip-up sink over a space for a porta potti. Early outlooks had a cupboard under the sink where a porta potti could fit but later ones have a bigger gas locker which impinges into the locker space so you can't store the toilet. Therefore we think we need either a later "toilet option" (which sees hard to find on second hand romahomes) or an earlier one with bigger cupboard below the sink.

So to help us in our quest, can anyone tell us please:
    1. When did the toilet option become available?
    2. When was the gas locker enlarged?
    3. Has anyone managed to fit a portable toilet of any make into the smaller cupboard?
    4. Any suggestions about where to store toilet in R20/outlook (we moved the toilet on our c15 to avoid having to lift it out of a side locker and carry it
It also freed up another locker.

    Thanks

    In answer to #4:

I have the R20 HyLo without the loo option. I have a larger porta-potti (365) and keep it between the benches behind the front seats. This is on the Berlingo base which might be wider than the C15 but, it's not really in the way and, draped with a towel, it's not very visible either. It forms a useful extra surface although it's never actually been used for its intended purpose!

It's also possible to assemble the rear half of the double bed with it in situ so you benefit from the extra width of the bed at the head end and still use the loo with the bed (half) made up.

Thanks Karen and Peter, very useful info. We considered putting the loo between the seats on the c15 we had, seemed a good idea (and the new R20 we saw at Excel had an optional storage box that locked into that location!) but we put storage bags with clothes etc. between the seats anyway. In the end we popped the loo under the sink which is why I think we're so keen on doing the same with an outlook/R20 when we find the right one. Looks like we can look back as far as 2002, thanks Peter.
Working out storage in a Romahome without overloading it is certainly a fun exercise

        cheers,
        Bill

One thing that you will find is that the Luton storage space is much less than on a C15

You're right there, Peter, and the Luton storage on the latest R20 lo that we saw at Excel is even less as the cab roof is even higher. Think that when we finally get our next van that we'll have to start all over in working out where to put everything rather than try and do a "C15" load again.

Probably get sleeping bags up there (just)!

The factory introduced the toilet option in the Outlook and Hylo in 2002 but initial uptake was fairly slow. From 2004 customer sales were split about 60/40 with/without the undersink loo.
The gas locker was enlarged at the same time.
The Pullman layout with the extra two seats was introduced in late 2004 and virtually every customer who has bought since this date has specified this option.
The Luton storage on the Outlook (renamed the R20) was slightly smaller than the C15 conversions.
However, the latest New R20 Hi has a larger Luton providing you order it without the FOC optional table storage as that takes up more space in the Luton.
