    Romin cupboard catches

Does anybody know where I can get any of these catches. I know they were used in early Romahomes(C15). I have one broken one and one iffy one. I can still get into the cupboards but I would like to replace. I can't find them anywhere on the net or know if there is a modern equivalent. Because they do leave a 2" hole in the door when they are removed which limits what kind of catch you use.

It might be worth asking Ant at Avon Motor Caravans, his workshop is a veritable Aladdins Cave of Romahome bits and bobs.

How broken/iffy are they?? The ones in our old roma didn't seem to hold the doors closed everytime, the sping loaded mechanism wasn't releasing so the catch wasn't going into place. This was sorted by unscrewing the screws about 1/4 turn, they were just too tight.

The iffy one is doing just as you described. I can open the door and close it, but it's like the spring doesn't follow through to close properly, so I have to push it with my finger for it to catch properly. It's no big deal, just me being picky. The other catch is broken where you insert your finger to press to open door, it's broken off(just a bit fiddly) again no big deal but if I could replace it would be nice. I've found nothing remotely like these catches on the net. I did take one out to see how it worked and found the 2" hole it is inset into. so no real alternatives for other catches. Pam
