[Help Topic] How to start a new thread/topic

If you want to start a new thread or topic, make sure you are logged in then go to the section you want to post in. This will depend on what your question or subject is, for instance if you want technical help you would put it in the technical section.

Once you are in the section and can see the list of other topics you will see a blue button near the top, marked "new topic" click on that and a box will open up where you can enter the subject and a post detailing your question or subject. Once completed click on "post" and your message will appear

A couple of screen shots below to help explain. (Click pictures to enlarge)

Hi Wendy don't worry you are not wasting anyone's time

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean though, if you are logged in you don't need to actually enter your name, it does it for you.

Thanks Pauline, I’m not sure what I mean either. I think when I was posting comments it was asking me forUBL or something like that. Anyway I’m slowly making progress and enjoying the commeradery. Wendy S. Arfurcaravan.

OK Wendy, not sure what that would be!

See how you go and don't hesitate to ask if you need help

Hi Pauline, First I would like to say how much I appreciate the personal quality of your website, such a change from most of the stuff on the web. It was good to see you and Graham sitting in front of your van, and thank you for telling us about your accident in 2000... How lucky you were not to be injured or worse.

I have just registered with the site and was about to ask why I could not see the + New Post button. But it has come up now and I have made my first post. I see it is unapproved. Does this mean it is waiting for approval?

And while I'm here, can you tell me what "sticky" means? Thank you.

                Hi and welcome

So glad you have joined us and thank you for your kind comments.

Yes, your first posts are moderated this is because we are sometimes troubled by unsavoury spammers who attempt to post links to some horrible things.

By moderating we are able to check that the person is genuine , like you are.

A sticky is a thread that has been stuck to the top of a section so that it is easy to find.

Threads normally drop down as replies dwindle but these stay at the top. Hope that helps.

Hi and welcome OlderMan thanks for your kind comments, the forum and website are our babies, we started very small and have now built up a lovely community of people who love to make friends and chat about camping and other things as you have no doubt seen on the forum, I hope you enjoy being a member.
