Just acquired a romahome hylo and as yet have not been successful in putting the top up. There appears to be 4 hydraulic rams with transparent pipes leading down to some solanoide switches and looking at it there is a possibility of a missing pump. I was hoping you could just push the top up! Any information would be gratefully received.

Hi Tennis Lover.
The rams on a 1990 Hylo are compressed air rams, there should be a gauge on the dash that talls you the pressure in the system, you need about 60 to 80 on the gauge before the roof will lift. Normally behind the flap below the sink there was a two way rocker switch, one up the other way down. If the pump is missing you need to get a 12volt tyre inflator pump and either fit it where you think it's missing or there should be an ordinary tyre valve fitting to allow for manual pumping.
The first time you try lifting the roof have some help in case it lifts unevenly and jams ( not good), the helpers will need to shove on the part of the roof that looks like jamming. Once up, polish the revealed parts to ease the process in future.
