    Hello Graham,

No sign of your e-mail anywhere. Keen to know what you wrote. I'll keep an eye on this site, now that I'm finding my way around it, and hope you'll contact me here. I do seem to be a bit of a nuisance!

    Best wishes,

    Sibyl

    Hello Sibyl

I have replied to your recent email, have you received it? This one didn't bounce back, so if you haven't got it look in your spam folder.

    Hello Graham,

It's me again. I'd forgotten that I had already registered with Small Motorhome and I have now registered again, with Username Crabbswood. I think I sent a picture of my Austin Maestro Campervan with my email to you when I was Musichogsmill! I'm still keen to advertise my van for sale as my new partner has a Romahome (and is interested in your site).

I look forward to hearing from you and hope I haven't confused the issue.

    Sibyl

On the early Escorts, the ballast resistor which peterh refers to, IS the voltage regulator. I might even have one lying around somewhere.

Isnt there also some kind of ballast resistor or something in the circuit, usually fastened to the back of the instrument cluster. It smooths out the fluctuations in voltage and can affect the operation of the instruments.

Have you got a workshop manual, you should be able to trace the circuits on a wiring diagram

Surely if both gauges failed at the same time the fault is not with the gauges but the supply to them. Or, if they use a common earth then that could be where the problem lies. I seem to remember on Escort Mk.1 &2 a fault of that nature being caused by the voltage regulator in the supply to the gauges.

    Tony.

    There are some on ebay.

    See this link.

Hope you get one and your van sounds intriguing, we'd love to see a picture of it.

    Austin Maestro Campervan

I have a 1988 F registered Austin Maestro Campervan. Both the fuel gauge and the temperature gauge have stopped working and I haven't been able to find anywhere where which supplies the parts needed. Any suggestions would be welcome.
